Granite State Education Corps Overview:
Granite State places members in schools and non-profits throughout the state of New Hampshire, in both rural and urban communities. Members may serve both in school, as well as out-of-school or after-school in order to increase student education attainment through: 1) Mentoring programs and increased mentor relationships, 2) Academic Support, 3) Service Learning opportunities, and 4) Outreach to the community, such as connecting with businesses, schools, and resources and by recruiting and coordinating volunteers. The Granite State Education Corps program will seek to increase the number of youth who have improved their school attendance, increase the academic performance of students, and decrease the incidents of disciplinary referrals given to students over the course of the AmeriCorps program’s involvement with the student.
